Kenenisa Bekele wins the 5,000 Meters at Worlds
BERLIN (AP) — Kenenisa Bekele of Ethiopia won the 5,000 meters at the world championships Sunday, giving him a second long distance double in as many years.

After achieving a similar feat at the Beijing Olympics, the 10,000 world champion outkicked Bernard Lagat of the United States in the finishing straight to win in 13 minutes, 17.09 seconds. Defending champion Lagat got silver, .24 seconds behind.

James Kwalia C'Kurui of Qatar took bronze.

Bekele also holds the world record at 5,000.
