Adebayor Vows To Fight Balotelli For His First Team Place At Manchester City

striker Emmanuel Adebayor has vowed not only to stay and fight for his place with the club poised to sign Mario Balotelli, but also to carve his name into City legend.

The striker - who survived the horrific terrorist shooting attack at the African Nations Cup back in January - is also promising a better goals return than the 16 he plundered last season.

He said: “Last season wasn’t my best. So much stuff happened on and off the pitch. I was suspended and injured. Then I went away with the Africa Cup of Nations.

“But after the shootings I needed some time away from the game to reflect on things. Everything was very stop-start all the way through. But I was pleased that I started and ended the season strongly.
