SARA Rail Conference and Exhibition 24th - 25th May 2017 at Emperors Palace, Johannesburg, South Africa.

TO MEMBERS OF THE MEDIA
The Southern African Railways Association (SARA) will hold its last Board Meeting for the year 2016 on the 1st December 2016 in Gaborone, Botswana. This will immediately be followed by a Press Conference on the upcoming SARA Rail Conference and Exhibition (the 7th edition) which is scheduled for 24th and 25th May 2017 at the Emperors Palace, Johannesburg, South Africa.


At this meeting, the SARA Board being the apex body in the SARA structure comprising of CEOs of SARA members will deliberate and come up with resolutions on pertinent issues of integration of rail operations and improving railway performance. The Board will also give a detailed update on the preparations for the upcoming 7th SARA Rail Conference and Exhibition, which will be running under the theme “Innovations in Railways, Roads and Ports for Regional Socio-Economic Growth”.
This conference is a platform for all rail industry stakeholders to discuss and share their expertise and experiences as part of a broader plan to improve railway performance and its contribution to regional economic development in line with the provisions of the SADC Protocol on Transport, Communications and Meteorology.
