The long awaited direct flights between Kenya, and the United States are now possible, after the  US FEDERAL Aviation Administration ( FAA) granted Kenya's biggest Airport Jomo Kenyatta International Airport ( JKIA)  Category One status.  Kenya's biggest, and one of the most popular airlines in Africa "Kenya Airways" is expected to take advantage of this and start direct flights to the US. US airlines too espescially Delta are also expected to start plans for direct flights between US and Kenya.

Kenya is Africa's biggest exporter of horticultural produce into the European Union with a 16 per cent market share. It's therefore widely expected to take advantage of the direct new flights, and grow is horticultue business in the US, and North America in general.
