The tented Camp opened in 1994. Lake Kitandara Camp is the best Camp for upper market visitors in Bwindi National Park. It has been modernised in an African style. It has unique tents which retain some original features but also have modern conveniences. "where adventure begins"
Location
It is adjacent to Bwindi Forest Impenetrable National Park overlooking the beautiful forest with primates.
A must is a trip to Bwindi National Park, a famous home for mountain gorillas.
The Park is situated in South Western Uganda on the edge of western lift valley (Albertine rift) It is 331 Square Kilometers in size and altitude range of 1,160 meters (Ishasha Gorge) to 2,607 meters (Rwamanyonyi Peak) The annual average temperature range is 7 degrees C to 20 degrees C with the coldest period being June and July.
It is a home to 326 gorillas almost half of the world's population of mountain gorillas. There are 346 species of birds and over 200 species of butterflies.
The major activities are gorilla tracking, Bird watching, Nature walks, Village walks and cultural performances.
The unique Luxury Camp for upper class visitors welcomes you with the breath taking scenery of the forest. It's a home away from home, very quite environment, you are only entertained by different melodies of birds. The atmosphere is very charming and friendly. If you are lucky you will get a surprise visit by the mountain gorillas!
Accommodation
The Camp has a total of 20 Luxurious tents which are self contained and are named after Ugandan bird species. The Camp has been carefully designed to blend the natural environment which provides luxury hospitality to all guests.
The tents are well equipped with comfortable beds and furniture. All beds are designed purposely to ensure your comfort. The bathrooms are fitted with hot / cold showers and bath tabs. It has 24 hours solar power running No detail has been overlooked in the refurbishment of these magnificent tents.
The Bar
The Bar has been refurbished to suit your highest expectations. It over looks the forest. The evening breeze from the forest will relax you after Gorilla tracking. Drinks range from soft drinks, beers, Sherries, wines, spirits to mention but a few.
Come and sooth you thirst while watching monkeys and different species of birds across the forest.

The emphasis is on the finest International cuisine and the very best in fresh local produce. The restaurant is in an elevated position above the forest.
Prices
A tent with a double/twin room is USD 240 and a single room USD 145 full board.
This includeds Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Unlimited Juice, Tea/Coffee plus House wines on the last day.

Imagine how thrilling it is being on such a well landscaped hill with modern tents surrounded by the forest! It is very refreshingly cool, private and quite apart from the entertainment you get from birds singing different sweet melodies.
