Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge is cleverly laid out such that most rooms and sitting areas afford stunning views of the Lake and the Park. The Lodge incorporates natural landscaping with tall acacia trees, winding walkways and greens dotted with bird feeds. The Lodge is a natural haven for bird life and attracts over 50 species of birds amongst the 400 species that inhabit the Park.
Lake Nakuru National Park was created in 1968 to protect the huge flocks of over a million the lesser flamingo that breed and nest at the edge of Lake Nakuru, giving it the characteristic pink rim. Lake Nakuru National Park located at an altitude of 4,000-5,767 feet above sea level, covers 188 square kilometers of land of great ecological diversity - from lake water, woodland, bush grassland, to rocky ridges. The park is home to not just the lesser flamingo but over 400 species of birds and one of the few places to see the endangered white rhino. Other wildlife at the park includes lions, leopards, zebra, gazelles, eland, giraffe and the hyrax.
The Sarova Lion Hill Lodge is located in the heart of the Great African Rift Valley, on the shores of
Lake Nakuru, one of East Africa's most famous soda lakes. The lodge setting, overlooking the lake, offers a unique vantage point.
Lake Nakuru is also a sanctuary to the greatly endangered Black Rhino. Colobus monkeys keep you busy with their mind games, and the park is home to plenty of other game including Zebras and waterbucks. Nowhere else will you get a photo of a rhino backed by a mirage of soft pink flamingos sifting food from the shimmering soda lake. It's a spectacle to behold!
Sarova Lion Hill Lodge is 160kms from Nairobi approximately a two hours drive or 30 minutes by air followed by a 30 minute transfer to lodge.
Accommodation
There are 64 superbly appointed chalets with all bedrooms having verandas with panoramic views of the flamingo pink-rimmed lake. They offer a private toilet and shower, mosquito nets and electricity.
Flamingo Restaurant serves meals on the ground floor and also a patio is available at the pool. A buffet is served for lunch while dinner is table d'hote with a seating capacity of 200 people. Rift Valley Bar on the ground floor overlooks the lake, and is open from 7.00 am. to 11.00 pm every day. The lodge restaurant and bar open onto a large viewing deck with panoramic views.
Activities
The lodge has a swimming pool, sauna, laundry service, and curio and gift shop. For conferences, Baraza Room on the ground floor is just perfect; it is large airy room designed in earth colors and adjacent to a separate lounge. Audio-visual equipment and secretarial assistance is available. The capacity is 80 in theatre, 150 in cocktail and 40 in seminar styles respectively.

A major feature of this park is the bird life, particularly the thousands of flamingos. A rhino sanctuary also provides the opportunity to see the greatly endangered black rhino.
