Monthly urban headline CPI inflation, published by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics on October 9, 2024, recorded 2.1 percent in September 2024 compared with 2.0 percent in September 2023 and 2.1 percent in August 2024. On an annual basis, urban headline CPI inflation recorded 26.4 percent in September 2024 compared with 26.2 percent in August 2024.

Monthly core CPI inflation, computed by the Central Bank of Egypt, recorded 1.0 percent in September 2024 compared with 1.1 percent in September 2023 and 0.9 percent in August 2024. On an annual basis, core CPI inflation recorded 25.0 percent in September 2024 compared with 25.1 percent in August 2024.
