Quarter-Final Shocks on the Cards as TotalEnergies CAF AFCON Heads Into Pivotal Stage
The TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals kick off this weekend, with the potential for more upsets as underdogs aim to topple tournament favourites as the matches are played on Friday and Saturday.

Former champions Nigeria, DR Congo, Cote d'Ivoire and South Africa are seen as the teams to beat.
However, in a tournament marked by upsets, where seven of the top 10-ranked teams have already been eliminated, the 'favourites' label may be more of a challenge than an advantage.
But this unpredictable tournament has already seen a host of shocks and more could comes as the unfancied sides are seeking to make history against bigger opposition.

As the quarter-finals unfold, the unpredictability of this Afcon continues to captivate, with favorites on shaky ground and underdogs ready to script more upsets in the quest for continental glory.

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has been Nigeria's driving force, showcasing skill and tireless industry. The Super Eagles also boast a sturdy defence marshalled by William Troost-Ekong.
The Nigerian defence, led by Troost-Ekong, has only conceded one goal in four matches, silencing concerns.

Angola are the surprise package, defying expectations by winning three straight games. Their clash with Nigeria promises to be highly competitive.
