The Central Bank of Liberia (CBL) Sets March 31, 2024 as Deadline for Use of Old Currencies

 WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2024

The Central Bank of Liberia (CBL) hereby notifies the Public that after March 31, 2024, the old Liberian dollar banknotes will no longer be legal tender.
The public is therefore advised to have all its old Liberian dollar banknotes exchanged at any commercial bank or regulated financial institution for newly printed banknotes.
 
After the March 31, 2024 deadline, the old Liberian dollar banknote series may be exchanged only at CBL’s Head Office and Cash Hubs across the Country. No commercial banks, other regulated financial institutions or businesses shall be allowed to exchange the LS1 and LS2 banknotes. 
The Public is urged to kindly take note and act accordingly, as no commercial banks, other regulated financial institutions or businesses shall be allowed to exchange the LS1 and LS2 banknotes after this deadline.
