Air Zimbabwe, in partnership with the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) and the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, has introduced scheduled air services on the Harare–Masvingo and Victoria Falls–Masvingo routes from 5 to 12 September 2026, ahead of the Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo, which will take place in Masvingo from 9 to 12 September 2026.
The flights will provide convenient travel options for exhibitors, buyers, delegates and visitors, while supporting increased visitor movement and economic activity in the province during the Expo period.
The introduction of these services, together with the hosting of this year’s Expo in Masvingo, underscores Air Zimbabwe’s continued commitment to strengthening domestic connectivity and improving access to key national events and destinations. The initiative also supports broader national efforts to grow the tourism sector by enhancing connectivity to provinces with significant tourism, heritage and investment potential.
Air Zimbabwe has worked closely with the Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe, Airports Company of Zimbabwe and National Handling Services to ensure that the necessary infrastructure and operational support are in place for the smooth and efficient operation of the service.

“A land of smiling people.” That was the touching first impression shared by one of the International Buyers upon touching down in Masvingo from Harare aboard the inaugural Air Zimbabwe flight, capturing the warmth and hospitality that underpin the Zimbabwean Tourism experience. The inaugural service has injected an excitement into the Tourism sector, with Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry Hon Barbara Rwodzi, describing the development as a major growth for the industry and emphasising that connectivity is key to unlocking greater Tourism opportunities.
The three flights from Harare to Masvingo have facilitated the movement of more than 100 International Tourism Buyers from key source markets such as United Kingdom, Spain, Poland, Russia, Pakistan, India, China and HongKong ahead of the Sanganai/Hlanganani Dzimbahwe Tourism Expo 2026, strengthening direct links between international Tourism markets and Masvingo’s rich Heritage and Tourism offering. The Minister expressed appreciation to His Excellency the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Cde. Dr. E. D. Mnangagwa, the Mutapa Investment Fund and the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development for supporting the initiative. She noted that Masvingo Airport is undergoing refurbishment through the Airports Company of Zimbabwe, further strengthening the infrastructure supporting destination accessibility, while encouraging locals to support the service.
The Tourists were warmly welcomed and treated to scrumptious Zimbabwean dishes, giving them an authentic introduction to the country’s Culinary Heritage and adding Gastronomy to their Masvingo Tourism experience. With the Air Zimbabwe service operating from 5–12 September, the initiative provides an important opportunity to position Masvingo as a strategic Tourism gateway, bringing Tourists closer to Great Zimbabwe and creating opportunities for Tourism businesses and communities to benefit from increased Tourist flows.
The Minister was accompanied by the Minister of State for Masvingo Provincial Affairs and Devolution Hon Ezra Chadzamira, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry Hon Tongai Mnangagwa, Permanent Secretary Dr Takaruza Munyanyiwa and Zimbabwe Tourism Authority Chief Executive Officer Dr George Manyaya.
