The South African company Industrial Development Corporation #IDC @IDCSouthAfrica, specialized in boosting industrial capacity in Africa, with a particular focus on inclusive industrialization through the development of regional value chains in several sectors, including mining, agribusiness, and renewable energies, as well as job creation, along with the company Business Holding, specialized in the production, distribution, and marketing of pharmaceutical products, are invited to come and set up operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo, a country brimming with enormous opportunities in multiple fields. This call directs them in particular toward the Special Economic Zones in order to benefit from tax, para-fiscal, and customs advantages.
Call launched this Tuesday, April 28, 2026, in Kinshasa by the Congolese Government, through the Minister of Foreign Trade, Julien Paluku Kahongya @julienpalukucom , during a strategic meeting with the CEO of the IDC, Mmakgoshi Lekhethe, and the Chairman of Business Holding, Kingsley Tloubatla, accompanied by their experts as well as the Director General of the Industrial Promotion Fund #FPI, HervΓ© Claude Ntumba Batukonke, who recently signed a memorandum of understanding with these South African firms in Cape Town.
On behalf of the Congolese Government, the Minister of Foreign Trade reassured these investors of the consolidation of improvements to the business climate in the DRC, but also of the accompaniment and protection from the Congolese State once their companies are established. He further invited Industrial Development Corporation #IDC to join the project around the battery and electric vehicle industry that the DRC is developing in the Musompo Special Economic Zone, in Lualaba Province.
Before the press, the Director General of the FPI @fpirdc HervΓ© Claude Ntumba Batukonke indicated that the expected establishment of these major South African companies represents a fallout from the organization, last February in Kinshasa, of the South African economic mission.
A joint commission has been established and will work with the sectoral ministries.
