2026 Boston Marathon: Men’s Elite Results

In an extraordinary performance at the 2026 Boston Marathon, Kenya’s John Korir successfully defended his title, etching his name into the history books with a blistering time of 2:01:52. Taking advantage of favorable tailwinds and a highly competitive field, Korir didn't just win; he shattered the previous course record. This achievement makes him the fifth fastest marathoner in history.
Korir won $150,000 and a gilded olive wreath sent from the plains of Marathon, Greece.
For his record-breaking run, he earned a $50,000 bonus on top of the standard winner's prize money.
Korir’s time is the fastest ever recorded on the Boston course, surpassing the previous mark set by Geoffrey Mutai (2:03:02) in 2011. Alphonce Felix Simbu (Tanzania) -- 2:02:47 surged late to claim second place, while Benson Kipruto (KEN) -- 2:02:50 maintained his consistency to take third.
