Every year, flooding affects thousands of households and businesses across Lagos, disrupting movement, damaging property, and placing vulnerable families under significant socio-economic strain. Recognising the need for proactive solutions, the Lagos State Government, in collaboration with its partners, has developed the Flood Risk Insurance Policy to protect lives, safeguard livelihoods, and strengthen community resilience.
This launch marks a decisive shift from reactive disaster response to a more sustainable, forward-looking system that provides timely and reliable financial protection for over four million vulnerable residents.
